At Van Conversions we have a totally unique way of doing things. We build bespoke Horseboxes to your exact specifications, incorporating only the finest quality materials with the highest level of workmanship; from the initial design down to the last finishing touches.
Van Conversions will ensure that the horsebox we build you is the lightest, strongest, most practical and of the highest specification we can get onto your chassis. We can guarantee you the cost of this totally bespoke build will be no more than if you bought someone else’s horsebox second hand.

Straight from the horse's mouth
Depending on your requirements we have the ability to create your beautiful horsebox, or horsebox conversion on 3.5t to 26t platforms (and everything in between), with or without a body. We can add Luton sleeping, full width lockers, extending side pods, hydraulic ramps. We will only use the highest quality materials that will easily withstand the use by your horse and, most importantly, keep them safe.
Offering our services to Devon, Cornwall and beyond, we believe there's no customer specification that we can't complete to perfection. We love what we do and take pride in our workmanship and our ability to think outside the box!
Your project
Whatever you need, we can build it
Your build can be as straightforward or as complex as you require. We offer additional products too, such as self-levelling systems, air conditioning (horse or groom’s area or both), CCTV, Extraction fans, slide out pods and hydraulic ramps, to name but a few. We also build or convert for type 2 transportation (Animal health, DEFRA), please contact us should this be what you are looking for.
We are able to turn 3.5t van into safe stable pony boxes and are very happy to build every variant up to 18t, even walk-through on articulated truck and trailer.
Van Conversions can build your horsebox at a cost you would pay for an equivalent second hand horsebox.
How does it work
You can be as involved as little or as much as you would like to be in this process
The layout of your vehicle will be determined by and based upon on your own requirements. You will pick the colours and finishes you would like from a profusion of samples. Layout does not stop at the groom’s area. The horse area and storage in a horsebox are of utmost importance and again here, we use only the finest products.
At Van Conversions we have a team of joiners who will meticulously craft your interior fittings in your groom’s area, as small or a large as you wish that to be. We work with many beautiful woods, laminates and lightweight laminated ply, which enables us to achieve the exact finish you require.
We also have an in-house trimming department who can offer a full suite of trimming to complement your new horsebox; leather, fabric or vinyl, the choice is yours, we can also install horse protection mats for the outside of your vehicle.
